Meet the Brokers

Jeanette W. Totten

Broker

Since moving to the Cayman Islands more than 30 years ago, Jeanette has watched Grand Cayman Island transition into a world-class destination and a highly sought-out investment market. She, along with her husband Robert, has owned property all across the island and is extremely familiar with each area’s real estate history and projected growth and development. For more than 26 years, Jeanette has sold real estate on the island and has become a well-respected industry leader with hundreds of satisfied clients, many of whom now work exclusively with Jeanette when they buy additional investment properties on the island. In 2004, she teamed up with Robert to open Cayman Luxury Property, with the desire to offer a real estate company that provides the best possible service and insider insight for her clients.

During her tenure in the Cayman Island’s real estate industry, Jeanette has served on and overseen various committees and boards including serving two terms as Vice President of the Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association. She was recently voted in as the first woman President of the 25-year-old local MLS Association, CIREBA, which has a membership of 31 real estate offices across the island. Integrity and unparalleled knowledge are two of the reasons her client referral list continues to grow.

Jeanette also recognizes how vital it is to volunteer and to give back to her community. From volunteering with the annual Flowers Sea Swim to her instrumental role in assisting in the progress and guidance of the Cayman Islands Little League association, Jeanette makes time to not only enjoy the beauty of the Caymans but also to help foster strong neighborhood communities on the island. She is more than willing to do any job--big or small--to help others or to serve her clients and is just as comfortable serving hot dogs at a Little League game as she is showcasing a multi-million-dollar property. Jeanette's caring personality, endless patience, tireless work ethic and real estate contract experience continue to attract not only new customers but also those "off the record" phone calls from fellow competitive agents asking for experienced information.

This sense of collaboration and teamwork is what makes Cayman Luxury Property unique. When describing what she loves about working with the Cayman Luxury Property team, Jeanette explains, “As a broker, I enjoy watching new agents becoming knowledgeable and confident in that knowledge, watching them find the perfect property for a client and then continue helping that client throughout the buying process. I want the client, at the end of the process, to say that the agent went above and beyond what they expected of an agent.”

G. Robert Totten

Broker

Robert’s engineering and construction background complements Jeanette’s expertise in the Cayman Island’s real estate market. Together, they have one of the most comprehensive understandings of development, construction, sales and real estate procedures in the Cayman Islands. In addition to having more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry--with more than 30 of those years here in the Cayman Islands--Robert holds a degree in Engineering with a minor in Business Management.

Robert has had a front row seat to many of the commercial hotel and tourism projects that have evolved over the last 30 years on Grand Cayman. Most of the major projects on the island have involved Robert is some way, and this experience in these developments has provided him with a rich knowledge of the professional companies in the local construction industry, including developers, architects, surveyors and building contractors. While Robert has been involved officially in real estate for the past seven years, in an unofficial capacity he has worked closely with Jeanette on many different projects, serving as her "unpaid assistant".

Robert, along with Jeanette, has given innumerable volunteer hours in support of the local Cayman Islands Little League. In addition to serving behind the plate and serving as League President, he was the architect and project manager for the 10-acre Cayman Islands Field of Dreams ballpark, which has set the standard of excellence for ballparks in the Caribbean.

Jeanette and Robert Totten have one son, Jordan, who is presently pursuing his career of becoming a PGA Touring Professional. Jordan lives and trains in the United States.
